St Joseph’s Out Of School Club is based in St Joseph’s Catholic Primary Academy school and is registered with and regulated by Ofsted. All our staff have enhanced DBS checks, safeguarding training and pediatric first aid certificates.

The club is part of a group of clubs around Huddersfield trading as Outlane out of school club LTD which are owned and overseen by Lindsey Chadwick and Susan Swain.

We aim to provide an inclusive service, accessible to all children in the community. We aim to provide an inclusive environment where each child feels happy, safe and secure, allowing them to learn and develop freely in a play centered environment.  Children have a big input into the activities at the club and their ideas are valued and listened to. Health & safety

The club has a health and safety policy and operates within this policy. Children will only be allowed to leave the premises with an adult named on the admission form and we operate a password system. The door to the club is locked at all times and will only be opened by a member of our staff. Parents have a duty to inform the club in advance if their child will not be attending that day, e.g. friend’s party. Parents are to notify the class teacher of the days their child attends the club.

Snacks

The club encourages healthy eating and children are provided with healthy choices for breakfast and snacks. If snacks and packed lunch are provided by parents these need to be in line with the clubs and schools healthy eating policy.

Information for parents /carers

The club operates an open door policy and staff are always willing to speak to you about your child. We will keep parents informed via newsletters, questionnaires and we have a parents only page on Facebook.

 Safeguarding

St Josephs Out Of School Club follows strict guidelines as set out by Kirklees safeguarding children’s partnership and will follow set procedure at all times.

All accidents that happen at the club will be entered into the accident book and parents informed and the book signed. Existing injuries from home or school will be recorded separately and discussed with parents/carers and an account of the injury will be written by the parent and signed and kept in the child's file at the club. Children within the EYFS who attend our lunch club will have accidents recorded on our on line system “Tapestry” where parents are informed electronically.

Medication can be given at the club as long as it has been prescribed by a Doctor and needs to be administered 4x a day.  A medication form must be filled in and medication signed out by parents/carers every day.
