Sports Premium Funding 2021 - 2022 and Report on 2020-2021.
P.E. and Sport Premium Funding Report – Summer 2021
Sports Premium Plans 2020-2021
The focus of this year’s funding will be the provision of additional opportunities for the children before, during and after school. In addition to this, we are purchasing the time of sports coaches to provide CPD for the staff to enable them to deliver high-quality PE. This is done through a cycle the teachers observing the coaches, working with them and then delivering the lessons themselves an receiving feedback on this.
Aims for 2020-2021
-
To resume the Sports Premium programme as quick as possible, following the lockdown of March-July 2020.
-
To continue to provide all Sports Premium clubs free-of-charge to every pupil
-
To raise achievement in Physical Education through staff working with qualified coaches
-
Further increase the number of children participating in at least one sport.
-
Increase by 25%, the number of children participating in at least two sports.
-
To introduce a Healthy Eating club (provided as part of the Huddersfield Giants partnership)
-
To provide more opportunities for the children to do structured sports and games on the playground at lunchtime.

Street Dance – three lunchtime sessions per week for Years One to 6. |
£2895
|
Children who take part in Street really enjoy it. Next steps would be to encourage other children to attend who haven’t before. Due to another lockdown the same children attended. |
Two lunchtime and two after school sports clubs (provided by Yorkshire Sport and 5 Sport). These clubs change each term. Examples of the clubs provided are football for girls, KS1 and LKS2, Multisports for KS1 and basketball. |
£6159
|
The clubs provided a change in activities each half term which is great as it gives children the choice to attend sports clubs they are interested in. Many children attended these clubs. Next steps for 2021-2022 will be to target the children who don’t attend any of these clubs. |
Sports Coaches to work with staff during PE curriculum time |
£7300 |
After discussions with some staff they said that they benefit from working alongside the Sports Coaches and it has given them more confidence when teaching PE. |
Lunchtime Playworker to work two lunchtimes per week to support structured sports and games on the playground |
£3200 |
Lunchtime playworkers worked really well engaging most children to be active in the playground. On observation the children really enjoyed having the Playworkers during lunchtime. Due to Covid the Year 5 play leaders were not allowed to be involved with Early Years and KS1 children during lunchtimes. This will resume in September 2021. |
Total Expenditure (based on estimated funding) |
£19554 |
|
For the academic year September 2021 to July 2022 the school will receive £19,530 in Sport Premium Funding.
We must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of Physical Education, Sport and Physical Activity (PESPA) on offer to pupils.
This means we will use the premium to:
1. To develop or add to the PESPA already in place in school (referring to the aims below)
2. To make improvements now for future pupils
The 5 key indicators where improvements should be seen are:
1. The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity, aiming for 30 minutes a day within school time.
2. The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.
3. Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport. 4. Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.
5. Increased participation in competitive sport.
The National Curriculum aims are for all children:
To be physically active, working towards a target of 30 minutes activity during and after the school day (excluding general play times)
To excel in a broad range of activities
To engage in competition
To lead healthy lifestyles
We aim to do meet the curriculum expectations with the help of the Sport Premium Funding by providing:
A more inclusive curriculum
A growth in traditional and alternative sports
Improvements in our partnership work with other schools
Creating links with other subjects that contribute to pupils’ overall achievement and their greater social, spiritual, moral and cultural skills.
