The school currently uses Read-Write Inc as its main phonics scheme, but have adapted it to suit our school.
The school follows the National Curriculum and teachers English, Mathematics, Science, Computing, Geography, History, Music, Art, Design Technology and Physical Education.
In Spring 2017, we adopted the 'Jigsaw' Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) scheme. We have a lesson every Thursday afternoon.
The school delivers it's curriculum through a mixture of single subjects and integrated themes.
English and Maths are delivered as separate subjects, but are brought into others in order to provide an opportunity to reinforce basic skills. Many of the themes that are taught begin with a special day of learning to launch the new topic.
As a Catholic school, we teach Religious Education according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. As part of our Religious Education, we teach children about other faiths and the importance of respect and tolerance.
