Child Protection & Pastoral CareChild Protection & Pastoral Care
St Joseph’s staff and governors are committed to the highest standards of Child Protection and will strictly adhere to the policies and best practice that is recommended by the government, local authority and other interested bodies. The School has four Designated Senior Leaders, Mr Williams (Headteacher), Mrs Rundle (Deputy Headteacher), Miss Warne (Assistant Headteacher) and Mrs Kitterick (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), all members of the Senior Leadership Team, and a designated governor, Mr Boylan, who are responsible for safeguarding. Anyone with concerns over child protection is encouraged to contact them.
Safeguarding and Pastoral Care are interlinked in school and as such, our three Designated Senior Leaders for Safeguarding are also responsible for Pastoral Care for the benefit of the children. Pastoral Care includes spiritual, emotional and social development. We are also currently supported by a worker from Catholic Care, Matthew Kearns, who comes into school all day Tuesdays to work with children and, where necessary, with their families. The service is also available to our staff.
