Child Protection & Pastoral Care
St Joseph’s staff and governors are committed to the highest standards of Child Protection and will strictly adhere to the policies and best practice that is recommended by the government, local authority and other interested bodies. The School has three Designated Senior Leaders, Mr Williams (Headteacher), Mrs Fleming (Deputy Headteacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and Mrs Greene (Nurture Leader), and a designated governor, Mr Boylan, who are responsible for safeguarding. Anyone with concerns over child protection is encouraged to contact them.
Safeguarding and Pastoral Care are interlinked in school and as such, our three Designated Senior Leaders for Safeguarding are also responsible for Pastoral Care for the benefit of the children. Pastoral Care includes spiritual, emotional and social development. We are also currently supported by a worker from Catholic Care, Matthew Kearns, who comes into school all day Mondays to work with children and, where necessary, with their families. The service is also available to our staff.
